The FETC provides educators an opportunity to explore ways to integrate different technologies across the curriculum – from kindergarten to college. Also we learned the latest hardware, software and successful strategies on student and teacher technology use.
We would like to share some of the things we learned.
Please enjoy the FETC sessions with us.FETC 2010
StrataLogica - a web-based product that will allow students to travel the world using an interative globe that connects with Google Earth. Wall maps, atlases, social studies charts and outline maps are available digitally. StrataLogica works perfectly with interactive whiteboards or a classroom computer. Visit http://www.nystromnet.com/stratalogica for a free trial.
*Engage Elementary Students with Technology’s best Tools and Resources: Gail Lovely- This is a link to a presentation with a multitude of resources. One really good one that stuck out to me is Storybird- have student create their own stories using real artwork from real artists! VERY COOL!
*PodCasting- http://teacher.ocps.net/john.lien/fetc2010/ A great presentation on how to use podcasting and resources to do it with. One very clever idea was to have the kids read parts of the class newsletter and don’t let the parents know when or what part their child is going to be reading so they have to listen to all of it! J
